I’m sure some of you have seen this comment floating somewhere on social media but it bears repeating, It’s a good thing Congress isn’t alive to see this…
Intellectual and thoughtful, and I think it hits the nail on the head. Unfortunately, I think the courage that it takes to even slowly create an independent block of politicians is sadly in short supply right now. It would require a group of them being disgusted enough as motivation to change. And, as is often said, hope is not a strategy. But fingers crossed anyway! Lol
Excellent observation and commentary, to which I whole heartedly agree.
Along with we have lost sight of compromise. We have devolved to a “my way or no way” mentality, and with that inability to compromise; it appears what you describe evolves, festers and grows out of control. Which is where I have felt we have been for many years now.
Chuck, it amazes me that the so called independent minded politicians have not figured out that if (12 house representatives, 6 from each party) and in the Senate (6 senators, 3 from each side) got together that they could better shape legislation and steer the political process back to a middle ground and actually get things done. Is that such a strange thought?
So sad that we have to think it’s ‘idealistic’ to imagine finding roughly 15% of the Congressional GOP that has enough integrity to the oath they took. John Lennon is up there writing another verse.

Great article - totally spot-on. Congress broke itself and pushed over all the other dominos with it.

Life in Ohio is already pay to play- corruption rampant
You stated it perfectly, however, I have little to no hope that anything will change to bring it back to how it used to operate.
Great piece, Chuck. A sad state of affairs indeed, but I do appreciate your hopeful tone.
